Douglas Adams was dead, but his widow named a successor to keep the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series alive. But it had been decades since the last book: young readers were unfamiliar with the series and old fans needed to be convinced the new writer would be true to the originals.
The Solution
A series of promotions ahead of publication which were in the voice of the original series, offering familiarity to Adam's core fan base but also introducing new readers to the fun, irreverent world of Arthur Dent.
We wanted to introduce a new generation to Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, and they had some catching up to do. This video was released ahead of the final book's publication.
I pitched the idea of handing out "Don't Panic" towels and promotional books at New York ComicCon. I wrote the books and worked with a designer to bring the project to life.
